About Manuka Honey Organic
Manuka Honey Organic is an independent review site for one product category: Mānuka honey. We test brands, lab-verify their MGO claims, and rank them on potency, taste, traceability, and value. We don't accept payment for placement on rankings or roundups, and we don't take PR samples. Every jar reviewed has been bought at retail, like any other shopper would.
Why this site exists
The site was built by Bart Magera, who came to Mānuka honey while recovering from a motorbike accident in Thailand. The recovery is anecdotal, not clinical evidence (every health-related article on this site reviews what the published research actually shows), but it drove him to learn how Mānuka honey works, why so much of what is sold under the label is not what it claims to be, and how to evaluate any jar against measurable standards rather than marketing copy.
How we evaluate brands
- Buy at retail. Every brand on this site has been purchased at full retail. We do not accept PR samples.
- Taste blind. Jars are decanted into unmarked containers and tasted against sibling brands at the same potency tier.
- Lab-verify the MGO claim. Each batch's stated MGO content is checked against an independent laboratory test before publication.
- Price-check weekly. The retail prices on every brand review and every comparison table are revisited weekly so the cost-per-gram-of-MGO numbers stay current.
- Disclose affiliate links inline. Every link that earns commission is marked with FTC-compliant disclosure on the page where it appears.
